So I portforwarded 5800/5801 and 5900/5901 to my linux server and from
any java-based web browser,
I can now get to my gnome desktop. ie. http://www.yourserver.com:5800

I always thought I had to use the realvnc application.
On many remote computers, you cannot just add realvnc if they dont have it.

As for my previous post about viewing remote secure logs via http.
I dont need that at all now. This solution is a million times better.

As Peter Griffin on Family Guy says.....SWWWWEEEET!

BTW, You can do the same thing with Windows (but I think you need to
have IIS running ack!)
