Yes, but you need to have a good enough
architect/lead to know that, and he/she
has to be "strong" enough to overcome meddling
management that only know enough to follow
the trade rags.

Not quite. You can think and write procedurally
despite the language. But, Java does have the
unfortunate requirement that every class has to
be defined in it's own .java file.
