I recall seeing a quick perl screen scraper tutorial on O'Reilly somewhere, and 
there are numerous PHP screen scraping tutorials out there. Granted I think both 
rely heavily upon regular expressions, but I'm sure if you were to compare two 
scrapers you'd get a general idea of where to focus your attention to learn PHP.
