Leah is right, it was my mistake. Since there are no blueprints for 
Potemkin villages you get to make your own map ;-) More seriously, ms 
has a way to improve protocols. I also use a ms mouse (wired, optical), 
but it should be labeled Agilent and Cypress I think (I looked inside). 
So a pretty good guess would be to find the datasheets of your OEM mouse 
(never mind what's written outside). That would be the first step 
towards writing an open source driver.
