This is a problem but it's important not to hand-wring too long over it.
The rise of open source has always been about the triumph of the
grassroots over the power of marketing, and this is no exception.
And, lest we forget, the open source world is also the (relatively
recent) recipient of substantial individual philanthropy, the result of
which is Ubuntu Linux. While Shuttleworth is no Gates, his money has
gone more directly and unabashedly towards support.
