Sure, and instead of a handgun the kid gets a rolled up copy of the GPL to
defend himself with.

Incidentally, 'Freakonomics' has some interesting material on the
economics of crack dealing. For front line 'workers', the pay is crummy -
about the same as working at McDonalds - and the life expectancy very,
very poor.
