Hi.
When you use autofs, the mountpoint does not get created until you access
the mountpoint under /misc. So, if you use the sample file that is included
in Red Hat / Fedora, the CD will be mounted when you access the /misc/cd
directory.
So you have to access the directory "blind"... that is, by CD'ing into a
directory that looks like it doesn't exist. Keep in mind that autofs is
managing all access to /misc, and comparing what you're trying to do with
what you have configured; so it's when you access /misc/cd that the
mountpoint gets created, and the CD mounted. After the timeout period (60
seconds), it gets unmounted and the mountpoint removed.
