has anyone played with these new Linux toys yet?

These are one and the same.    The Blackdog is the "lost leader" proof of 
concept device and the Personal Server is the real product being pushed.

I'd be interested in hearing about any experience particularly about relative 
ease or difficulty adding custom open source software to it.
