I have a dead row (or about 80% of it) on a 17" Samsung that's about 2.5
years old. It's not much more noticeable than the stabilization wires on
the Trinitron CRTs so I haven't rushed off to replace it under warranty.

I've seen dead pixels on several notebooks over the last few years.
