Originally it *was* going to be a paper-based magazine. Then, as almost 
a last-minute change, the decision was made by the heads of Linux 
Journal (which publishes Tux) to go PDF-only (a well as do some other 
major changes, including how much writers got paid).

I submitted an article to the "original" Tux and don't know if it showed 
up in the PDF version. I 've never seen it.
