Yes.  I imagine that it should work.  You may also need to specify
padsize= -- I found that 15 sectors (the default) was not enough.

Too bad that growisofs takes -pad, but not for burning raw images.

I don't know this command.  As is usual with cd tools commands, the
man page is a bit too opaque for me to figure it out at this hour.
Seems funny that a command named "readcd" would be able to write CDs.

Anyway, with the current 2.6 ide-cd, it isn't generally possible to
read all written sectors.  At least I could not find a way (I did not
try turning off DMA).  If readcd can create a .iso that matches a
burnt cd, it is probably not doing so by reading the last written
sectors.
