Before Doom 3 came out for Linux, Quake 3, especially Instagib
Tournament on DM17.

iD/Carmack have been pretty good to the Linux/OSS community so far, in
part due to their insistence on OpenGL over DirectX.

America's Army is available for Linux too, for free, although I'm not
sure on how good the game itself is.
