Grub and/or kernel problem...

Update: I could have installed a stock kernel.  It was embarrassingly
easy.  Grub still thinks that I'm booting off of a second (non-existent)
hard drive, but other than that it was effortless.  And my tablet works,
which is pretty sweet.
