Monitor Refresh Rate

Thank you for all of the help on this. I was able to use John's trick
and playing with the "custom" setup in Control Center to set a higher
refresh rate. Oddly, after I did that, the refresh rate dropdown list
in KDE's "configure your computer" appeared and allows me to make
changes there.
Again, thank you guys. Now if I could just get my second monitor to
display something other than scrambled garbage...
