Canada to Get Its Own DMCA?

Hi,

Just came across this article...

The part that caught my eye was:

"Canadian heritage minister Liza Frulla has recently proposed changes to Canadian copyright law that 
would allow US companies to sue Canadian Citizens."

This doesn't sound good :-) Has anyone seen any reaction to this from anyone?
