MythTV or Freevo experiences

Hi,
I'm interested in setting up a linux based DVR using MythTV or Freevo
for example.  While I've done a fair amount of research at this point,
I'd really appreciate any feedback others may have from their personal
experiences in setting one up (or trying to).  What have been your
biggest challenges? How successful has it been? Any recommendations?
