It is.  The "Pie Floater" mentioned in the URL is a specialty of South 
Australia but the more general "pie and peas" will be found throughout the 
country.  Remember to add tomato sauce ;)

Anyone moving to Australia must master the art of eating a pie one handed 
without dropping anything.  It is harder than it sounds.
