slide scanners (again)

Hey everyone,

I've been trying to track down a flat bed scanner (for books) and a slide
scanner for my dad. Most of the options that I would have gone with appear
to be sold out...

I've been trying to cross reference from here:

and with Staples/Future Shop...but I'm wondering if anyone can make some
recommendations. The Epson Perfection 1260 Photoscanner doesn't seem to
exist anymore (we can get the slide adaptor, but not the scanner itself).

Suggestions would be *greatly* appreciated. I've already spent several
hours trying to figure this out but with no luck.
