If you're stuck without a ride, you can get to McMaster University
from Oakville:

>From Oakville GO station, take the 407 Eastbound to the carpark at
Trafalgar & the 407.  From there, hop on the 407 Westbound to
McMaster.

It's bit of a hack, but it works.  Could work for others in/near York
U, Bramalea (Brampton), and Square One (Mississauga) as well.
