I think that the battery meters (especially the one in Windoze) are grossly
optimistic and geared towards encouraging people to buy batteries!

I use a Thinkpad R31 with an oldish dual-speed P-III, when I use Win
XPensive I can barely work 2.5 hours before getting the warnings that my
machine will shutdown.

When using Linux FC3 (without any meter) I can happily work 4+ hours even at
full CPU speed with the disk spinning and a wireless card!

So, do not believe everything the battery monitors say...
