AMD_64 Linux distro recommendations?

A lot of people claim ubuntu works very well on amd64.  I haven't tried
it.  I will stick with pure debian myself even though it doesn't have
quite as full amd64 support yet.

If your video card is an nvidia, opengl support should be fairly easy
too.
