Error when trying sync time using ntp

Hello:

I've started to get really annoyed at my laptop continously having the wrong
time, so I've decided to sync it using ntp. However, whenever I run ntpdate
tick.utoronto.ca, I get the following error message:

ntpdate[3492]: no server suitable for synchronization found

I can ping the server with no problem. I tried ntpdate -q tick.utoronto.ca and
got some data. It just appears that actually setting the date doesn't want to
work.

Any ideas?

thanks
