I find it is fine as long as the Xservers are not flipped too often.  I 
first did this circa 1995 and back in those days multiple X server would 
take the box down in no more than 10 days (assuming a few flips per 
day).  Now it is much more stable, but I always mention it lest someone do 
it on a production box (a server should not run X at all of course).
