From what I read reiserfs resizing should be done with a remount option, 
something like "mount -o remount,resize=20000 /mnt" however it doesn't work 
for me (Debian sarge).  OTOH, "xfs_growfs /mnt" works like a charm, in fact 
from xfs refuses to resize *unless* your filesystem is mounted (an 
interesting twist).
