Upgrading Kernel w/ YUM

I have very recently installed Fedora Core 4 and have just finished 
updating all of the packages with yum (love it). The only packages I 
didn't update were kernel 2.6.14-1.1644_FC4 and kernel-devel 
2.6.14-1.1644_FC4. Is it safe to upgrade the kernel with yum? The 
present kernel is 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4.
