Of course if you don't have any 10base2 cable around, and Ts and
terminators, then it would be cheaper to go find a 10baseT card to
replace in the machine in question. Of course if it is old and has the
network port built in and has no AUI and only a BNC connector, well then
you just have to deal with it and the hub is handy.
Fortunately my old machines use AUI and I have 10baseT transceivers for
them (well at least for a few of them).
