NAS or RAID

Of course some people have been saying good things about areca
controllers lately.  They have some with 24 SATA ports on them, and also
have drivers for linux (open source and all).  I believe I read
somewhere that their drivers will be included in the kernel sometime
soonish.

THey suppsedly also cost less than a 3ware.  Some benchmarks show them
as slower than a 3ware, other benchmarks show the reverse.  Who knows.
