Depends what you mean by "cheap". You can get an Hauppauge WinTv-PVR
250 for $170 plus tax that (now, doublecheck the 'net and exact
revision and model numbers) will work out of the box. It even does
MPEG-2 encoding for you in hardware, so there are no problems using it
on an older box.
