I doubt anything other than maybe software for controling the functions
(in windows) for the extra buttons requries windows. Making it not a
standard interface would make it not work in the bios and installers and
such. They wouldn't want to do that after all.
On the other hand I personally much prefer Logitech stuff. I just
picked up an optical wheel mouse cordless/keyboard cordless combo for
$48.
