Okay if you want to go cheap, I really don't recommend this but it has
worked for me for the last 3 years you can buy an used UPS at a
surplus shops.  I bought 2 APC UPS for about 45 dollars at Above All
on Bloor back in early 2001 and since then even with the really bad
power flux in my apt building I have had no trouble at all.  Now you
are buying "used" and you can't spell abused without u-s-e-d, however
if your really pinching pennies.
