Linux PC for 500$ ?

Well it seems you can get a quality asus socket 754 board with a cpu for
about $500 (and ram too of course) and even a low end nvidia card.  Not
really any different in price than a barton 2500+ on an nforce2 board.
At least not more than maybe $50.

Of course the socket 939 are faster due to dual channel ram.  Also cost
more.  Those would be hard to do for $500.
