Just be sure to upgrade it to Panther (10.3).  It's a lot faster than
Jaguar (10.2),
and anything older than Jaguar is just asking for trouble (it's SO old).

I'm fairly sure that Knoppix is x86-only.  Even ubuntu only has x86
liveCDs (though
it has PPC install discs).
