Hi Walter,

   I am drawing a blank at the moment but I had a very similar problem 
before. What I can tell you is that in my case it was an option related 
to USB that I was missing. It wasn't obvious and it was a head-slap when 
I figured it out. I'll keep rumaging through my memories for what it was 
exactly and post if I remember but in the meantime hopefully that will 
help you a bit.
