What would make a difference is if we were able to get the meeting 
information (speaker/topic/location) confirmed sooner, but that is not 
always possible.

The official announcement here on the list gets out to the bulk of 
members. What goes up at the site really only acts as reference for 
those who missed it here, and for those not on the list.
