KVM switches and X

Are you using a mechanical or electronic switch?  The mechanical ones 
often cause problems.  I've got a Protec "Bytelan" that works fine.

Also, X shouldn't require anymore bandwidth, than any other system, 
running similar resolution.

Another cause of your problem, may be a defective cable or connector.
