Found, by accident, on (amazing enough)  www.ryze.com
[ Ryze is a social engineering web site specializing in business.
   It's akin to:  Orkut,LinkedIn,MeetUP,Friendster, etc.
   I just signed up at www.ryze.com (I'm SWIT) today(March 30,2004)
   and am treating it as a business-oriented cocktail party of
   friendly strangers that I've wandered into.
   I'm posting this to: NewTLUG and Toronto Perl Mongers.

   Note: This look like a real job, but it seems to be at the
   John Kerry Campaign HQ in Washington, D.C.
   I tried to spot this at www.johnkerry.com, but there is
   just too much there.  There *is* a John Kerry entry at ryze.com,
   and it's all about Kerry's presidential campaign, so this LOOKS legit.

System Admin / Technical Programmer:

The "John Kerry for President" Internet team is looking for an
experienced system/network administrator with very strong Perl
programming skills.

Your primary job will be to supervise and manage the daily
activities of configuration and operation of web-based business
systems; optimize system operation and resource utilization,
updating security plans and network diagrams, adding and
deleting users, upgrading software, configuring and installing
new hardware, testing and debugging the systems, monitoring for
problems, placing service calls, performing system capacity
analysis, planning and monitoring the system for security
problems using intrusion detection software; and provide
assistance to users in accessing and using web-based systems.

Secondarily, you will be a "partner in crime" working with the
lead developer on programming solutions for our internal
systems which can encompass financial, data integration and
content management efforts in the campaign.

You should have 5+ years of experience with Linux including 3+
years of hands-on experience with Red Hat Linux systems
administration (RedHat 7.x and ES 2.1), strong experience in
Apache, mySQL, Urchin, NetScreen, modperl, XML-comma.

Operational experience in firewall and load balancing management,
as well as hardening and securing Linux systems required.

Programming in Perl and php is a must, and political
campaign experience and savvy is a strong benefit.

Work on any given day might proactive maintenance on the system
clusters and applications, redesign of the server architecture
for the systems being implemented, root cause analysis on server
performance issues, vendor management, and process management
and documentation for securing and release management.
Additionally, you will be working tightly in conjunction with
the Technology team and can be called to perform programming
tasks in conjunction with our lead developer.

This position is a FT position in the DC office, but at

- Experience with DBI including DBD::MySQL
- Experience with standard Perl/XML packages (XML::DOM, libxml, etc).
- XML::Comma knowledge a plus
- Must love data mangling
