sound and VMware Tools

In my experience with VMware+W98 the software installs ok but no icon
appears in the tray. You have to manually start it (from Programs->etc)
then configure it using the properties. Only then does it appear in the
tray. It refuses to run if you do not set a password for it. This was some
time ago.
