I have a ECS P4VMM2 with a P4 socket 478 upgradeable, audio, video LAN,
all on board. No issues at all.

The command hdparm -tT /dev/hda1 shows:
/dev/hda1:
  Timing buffer-cache reads: 128 MB in 0.77 seconds =166.23 MB/sec
  Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 1.35 seconds = 47.41 MB/sec

The command hdparm -tT /dev/hda1 shows:
/dev/hda1:
  Timing buffer-cache reads: 128 MB in 0.77 seconds =166.23 MB/sec
  Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 1.33 seconds = 48.12 MB/sec
