phone dating service running on Linux?

Recently I had a customer who was asking what is involved in setting up
one of those computerized dating services. Basically it would involved
people being able to dial a number and listen or (with a pass-code)
record advertisements.

I told him that it was probably something that could be run off a
computer like a larger version of those Linux-based phone-answering
services. But I really don't know what's involved, has anyone ever
looked into building something like this?
