Thanks David,
I'm not to knowledgeable about symlinks and what kind of perrisions sI should give. I'll probably be the only user of the Zire on my PC. I think I'll be able to figure it out. I have several Linux books.

jpilot defaults to /dev/pilot, so it's a good idea to create a symlink
/dev/pilot that points to your actual port.
You may have to change the permission settings of the
/dev/whatever-your-port-is.
