Frequent mouse "pausing" in FC2

Have you tried an alternate mouse to figure out if the mouse is faulty?

Is GPM and X running at the same time?  If yes, is X using gpm repeater
or are both going directly to the mouse device?

Which USB driver(s) are you using?
