format a locked harddrive with linux

i own a xbox and had a 120gig seagate in there. what microsoft did for
protection is lock the hard drive to go on xbox live and other things.
there was a guy in a nother newsgroup that said its possible with linux.
i dont know if any of you know how to do this?
ive started to learn linux about 2 weeks ago and am still a newbi at
this stuff so i would appretiate if someone could give a link or write a
step by step guid i have fedora core 1 right now.
