Converting .pdf to .chm or .html

pdftohtml <http://pdftohtml.sourceforge.net/> -- but please note that 
the results will have all the limitations of the source file.

PDFs are [usually] searchable, and often have a table of contents which 
make them easy to browse. What type of files are you looking at?
