Compiling question

Hi,

Recently, I compile a soure application program(xine) under Redhat 7.3 and Redhat 9.0. Both of them works. 

My question is what's difference between the compiled files from Redhat 7.3 and 9.0?  

If there is not big difference, I will stay with Redhat 7.3 with my old machine.
