Don't send html messages, or at the very least send BOTH plain text and
html in multipart (mozilla-thunderbird knows how).

But really, don't send html messages to a maillist.  All decent mail
programs can send plain text and can be told how to send messages to
specific addresses automatically even if you like inflicting html on
other people by default.
