RT1 also has an exploit (remote IIRC).  The announcement said the
developers would not be pursuing a fix but would incorporate one if
someone else did.  I haven't heard any more and afaik RT1 still has the
exploit.  Security Focus should have details.

Besides (as you note) RT1 is featureless.  RT3 rocks.
