Installing linux on a linux machine

I imaging that it would be the same as I have done here with vanilla
RedHat 9.0. Say that the current install '/' is on '/dev/hda1' then
choose a different, unused partition (same or other HDD) to install the
new '/' to (say '/dev/hda4' or '/dev/hdb1'). Of course use '/dev/sd*'
for SCSI. :)
