I am much more afraid of systematic abuses, such as might happen with
(computational and other) machinery: i.e. electoral fraud by people in 
high places taking advantage of the uninitiated.

If the system has worked for 125 years as it is (no proof of citizenship, 
etc.) I am just as likely to leave it be.
