Yes, I have read that article, which is a good one.

It's a given that someone has to evaluate task dependancies beforehand;
you need to encode that somehow.  The Makefile-based init is one
approach that uses familiar Unix tools.  david parsons (orc), maker of
the Mastodon distribution, created a scheme where services declare what
they need running, and automatically invoke what services aren't already
running, which is good, but doesn't automatically lead to the "make -j
20" approach to multitasking it.
