I thought I was having a discussion in technical forum, never thought this was 
about winning or losing.  Back on topic, "They have a valid case" is a 
statement of fact, if you wanted to state an opinion, you'd have said "They 
*seem* (or *appear*)  to have a valid case" or "I'd say they have a valid 
case".  See the difference?
